The work of the Foundation for Perioperative Research and Education (FPRE) would not be possible without the generous support of individuals and private philanthropists. Federal agencies, foundations, and the pharmaceutical industry provide little funding for research into perioperative complications, preferring instead to support research into specific diseases.

Please consider making a donation to FPRE. Your funds will be used to:
*   support basic research into the effects of surgical stress on various
     organ systems and the mechanisms that lead to perioperative
     complications
*   support clinical research directly related to the improvement of the
     perioperative experience
*   support the development of new prevention and treatment strategies
*   encourage physician-scientists from various disciplines to enter the field
     of perioperative research
*   award research grants to established investigators as well as young
     physician-scientists
*   focus public attention on perioperative complications and their growing
     economic and social impact
