FPRE.ORG mission

The Foundation for Perioperative Research & Education (FPRE) is dedicated to improving perioperative care through research, professional education and training, and public advocacy.

Toward these goals, FRPE:

*   supports basic research into the effects of surgical stress on
       various organ systems and the mechanisms that lead to
       perioperative complications

*   supports clinical research directly related to the improvement of
       the perioperative experience

*   supports the development of new prevention and treatment
      strategies

*   encourages physician-scientists from various disciplines to enter
       the field of perioperative research

*   awards research grants to established investigators as well as
       young physician-scientists

*   raises public awareness about perioperative complications and
      their growing economic and social impact
